ICGITS 2013 was organized by SAINTGITS College of Engineering from 4th April to 6th April 2013. All the Departments of the College worked in unison towards the realization of this magnanimous event that marked the close-curtains for the Decennial Celebrations of the SAINTGITS Group of Institutions as a whole. The conference served as a platform for researchers and designers to present and discuss the various emerging innovations and technological aspects pertaining to the different streams of Engineering that the college instructed. A team of highly qualified technical stalwarts were present from day one till the end of the conference. The plenary sessions and keynote addresses were definitely banks of exchange of information. Out of the 750 papers that were reviewed, 350 papers were selected and 250 papers were presented in the various paper presentation sessions of the conference.
A pre-conference tutorial on ‘Mathematics for Engineers’ was given by Dr. Ashok Rao, former Head Network Project, IISc., Bangalore. Expecting Dr. Ashok’s talk to technically pave the way to ICGITS 2013, the audiences experienced in live, the discussions that revolved around the current social issues and the fact that technological advancements must be used for constructive rather than destructive purposes.
The first day of the conference began with a plenary talk by Dr. Maurius Balas, Aurel Vlaicu University, Arad, Romania on the topic ‘World Knowledge for Electronic Circuitry or the Quest for Intelligent Circuits’
The second plenary talk was by Dr. Valentina Balas, Aurel Vlaicu University, Arad, Romania on the topic ‘New Advanced Intelligence Paradigms ‘.
A pleasure trip was arranged to the backwaters of Kumarakom for the relaxation and enjoyment of the distinguished guests, panel members, delegates and the core committee members of ICGITS.
The second day of the conference began with a plenary talk by Dr. Tom Stoumbos, Director of Engineering, Orbital Sciences Corporation, USA on the topic ‘History of Orbital, its innovations in space and the mechanical analysis and test of satellite structures’.
